Nothing brightens my morning dog walks more than spying a new window display at Trohv, and this installation was no exception. It's simple yet striking, and until I crossed the street for a closer look, I would have never guessed what created this stunning ikat design. Can you figure it out?

If you said bakers twine and half-painted popsicle sticks, you win!

Trohv happens to be one of my favorite stores in Baltimore, and honestly can contend with some of my most well-loved shops in the country. Some might say I'm biased... It's in my hood — just a stones-throw away from my house — and I happen to know and adore the delightful owners. That being said, I would be smitten regardless for their carefully chosen and ever-changing collection of goods. I also know it's a favorite one-stop shop for many, near and far.

Their window displays have not gone unnoticed; they've been honored by Baltimore Magazine as having the best window displays in the city. This time around, the display was a joint effort by just about everybody that works there. Not surprising since they had a mere 10,000 popsicle sticks to hand-paint, drill and string up! It's a beautiful work of art and now my wheels are turning on how I can incorporate something like this on a smaller scale in my own home. Any ideas?
