Inspired by India

Considering it is not just one of the largest countries in the world but an actual subcontinent in itself, condensing the style of India into a few short phrases would be doing an injustice. The homes are as varied as the cultures, languages and people in which they contain. So instead of trying to wrap a name around it, we figured we'd just show you a few interiors from India that we enjoy, and one from right here in San Francisco that is inspired by the country.
  1. India was the inspiration for this Pacific Heights home designed by Jay the Jeffers Design Group.
  2. Take a peek into Bollywood movie star Chunky Pandey's fuschia and teal-laced home by PFA Design Firm.
  3. Taschen's International Interiors series of books is always filled with lots of design inspiration, and the India edition does not disappoint.
  4. Bright orange accents abound in this Bangalore House Tour from the Apartment Therapy archives.
  5. And who can forget this entrant (and eventual winner of the international category) of our recent Small, Cool contest: Rajiv's Amalgam of Styles
