Spending hours searching through Air B&B is where I waste most of my time. My searches send me all over the world. Each time I gasp over the cheap price of staying in a beautiful home over a pricey hotel. This site has some of the most remarkable interiors I've seen.
This may sound like a sales pitch for Air B&B, but I assure you it isn't. The name is a bit frustrating to me. Every time I recommend it to a friend, I find myself repeating it 3-4 times before they understand what I'm saying. I can't imagine ever paying for a hotel again, when I can simply just rent out a gorgeous flat. Why wouldn't I stay in an industrial loft with an Eames lounge chair for half the price of a motel?
The images above are only the tip of the iceberg. I have a bookmarked list of $3000+ per night homes all the way to a $29 per night room. Each are as unique and gorgeously decorated as the next. Of course, there are some complete dumps on the site, too. The best part is searching for that rare gem like the $79 per night dream home in Stockholm.

I'm in absolute love with the Hong Kong light filled loft. Swoooooon. Love the mix of masculine and feminine.
I tried to rent using this service when I went to Paris last summer. Good luck actually getting a booking for any of the really cool places, even with plenty of notice.
FWIW, I ended up going with a listing on VRBO that was great.
I used AirBnB for a fantastic two week stay in New York. For me, it was a good experience, but don't be too sure all those interiors are really those places- the couple at the Young House Love blog found their house being used to advertise a place in Pasadena
i gotta bookmark this! thanks for introducing!

I love Air BnB. We found a great guest room in Chelsea about 7 blocks from the venue where we were going to see a concert, for about 110$ with private bathroom and breakfast included. The room was a little underdecorated but tasteful and comfortable. The bathroom had glass tile and marble bath and washbasin. Can't ask for better than that.
Wow! I've been to many an apartment in different areas of Hong Kong and none looked as fabulous as this light filled loft...
Has anyone ever rented their place out through this site? Or know of a great way to do this??
We are going away for a month and it would be great to have some income while we're away.
ironically, we have our pasadena apartment listed on airbnb. we've had 2 guests since posting in december and it's been great. we've made $1000 so far!
