Where: The corner of Howard and Crosby (map)
When: 2pm today, but continuing all day and perhaps tomorrow
What: This is the most wooden ladders we've ever seen in one place. The building here is being renovated and they're clearing out old ladders in GOOD shape. They've filled one dumpster and say they have two more to go. Many great choices for the taking. More pics below the jump...

now, if only someone were tossing a whole bunch of chutes...
Was the place a ladder factory?
Seriously? Who has that many ladders! :)
damn, my bro just drove back into bk...i would've sent him on a mission to get me one of those for, uh, something. magazine rack? er, LADDER?
chute, man.
These make great cat jungle gyms for aptbound felines. Wrap them with sisal rope or sisal carpet remnants for scratching and traction, affix with a glue gun. Add sisal carpet covered cement forms if you want to get fancy. I like how it looks better then the polyester carpet covered monsters.

so cool. wish I had a use for them
trillium - that's an awesome idea! i've been trying to come up with a way to get something like that for the cat that wasn't hideous or overpriced. Thanks!
Bookcases; place plain wood planks every 3 or 4 steps. You can use it to display a collection of dishes too.
That place does make ladders! It is the Putnam Rolling Ladder company - http://www.putnamrollingladder.com/
I have one of their ladders, and have to say I was totally blown away by their space on Howard that looked as if nothing had changed in 30 years.
I hope they aren't closing! There really are not many places to get a rolling library ladder!
Should I get one now, or get one ladder?
tonystl, I would say the ladder.
cannot. stop. laughing.
omg... chutes and ladders, i love it.
I have been wanting a thick wooden ladder to house/display my growing fabric collection...but this is not gonna fit in my corolla (and I'm roof-strapping challenged). Drats!
