Remember when Mom said not to draw on the walls? No offense to Mom, but that’s old news. The possibilities are endless when the writing is on the wall.
It was love at first site when we saw the Frames Wallpaper in the Land of Nod catalog, of all places. Uh, oh -- was it just a kid thing? But no! We found the Taylor and Wood Frames Wallpaper at Graham and Brown used in a variety of applications from master bedrooms to hallways to children’s rooms, of course.
Any why not? The clean black and white backdrop is as inviting as a blank coloring book page. Children and adults can both be inspired to grab a marker or pencil and sketch away. It reminds us of the amazing room created by Charlie Kratzer with $10 worth of Sharpie markers and a whole lot of imagination. Charlie just needed blank walls, but the rest of us might need slightly less overwhelming, contained frames.
The application of this wallpaper is basic but the implications are not. The British artists, Chris Taylor and Craig Wood, designed a wallpaper series of 18 prints that are intentionally open to interpretation. The whole concept is to invite the homeowner to be part of the design process and enable every installation to be utterly unique.
We would love to deck out a powder room in the Frames wallpaper and invite guests to do drawings, write messages, and tack up photos. Imagine what intentional bathroom graffiti could look like. . .
How would you apply the Frames wallpaper in your home?

I can't get over this idea...LOVE IT!
I'm going to do that in my hallway!
Too paint-by-numbers-y for my taste. I would prefer to draw my own art directly on the wall or invite my children/friends to do so.
yea i don't know about the kitschy look of the frames...BUT the idea is genius!
agreed! I think since you are drawing in the walls the "drawn" frames don't look as good. I think black shadows of nice oval ornate frames might be a nice contrast to the actual drawing in the walls
Ahh, AT Feb 2007
What's old (2007) is new (2010) again? I still love the potential of this wallpaper and think it is worth a second look.
we do draw on our bathroom walls! :) it's so fun!
i love this wallpaper!
Great idea! I would put it in the bathroom and let guests create the gallery. Then people can "sit" and enjoy the exhibition.
Just posted this wallpaper on our blog! We love how it turned out! Check out how we used it at www.aroaringhome.com
Really fun and charming! It even looks great without any creative additions. I remember as a child we'd make book covers and things out of old wallpaper, imagine how much fun it would be with this stuff! It's art on it's own.
