I like modern interiors, but concrete spaces often leave me cold — so minimal, barren and devoid of warmth. Architect Guilherme Torres' studio is an altogether different story. This place is hot, hot, hot!
Torres understands contrasts, and employs them with confidence. Sure, his self-designed sofa and desk are made of concrete, but one is covered in pillows, and the other sits under a crystal chandelier, dressed in books and playful ceramics. Add a plush rug and a Magis Puppy by Eero Aarnio to the mix and you have a sensuous home full of style and quirky details. And the Brutalist-inspired conduit that snakes throughout the space in linear perfection? Simply fantastic!
