By now you're well aware of our weakness for ABC posters, so you know we flipped when we saw this twist on the traditional. It's an international phonetic alphabet poster with super cool, modern illustrations.
We found it via a google search one day while wondering if such a poster existed, and, if it did, how one would illustrate all those random words in a cohesive way. We got our answers. Yes, it exists, and artist Laura Knight knocked the illustrations out of the ballpark. How awesome would this be for a kiddo whose mom or dad is serving in the military?

This is awesome! I actually just found a cool phonetic alphabet print for my office at Winners. Gotta add this one to my wishlist - maybe I'll start a collection.
I adore alphabet posters and this one is just perfect. The graphics take it to the next level.
oh my i am crazy about this!
VERY cool! We're suckers for alphabets, fonts, and cool graphics! Going to reshare on our Things With Wings facebook page! http://facebook.com/thingswithwings
This is a super cool poster. Just one detail though - it's not the International Phonetic Alphabet that's depicted. The IPA is a set of symbols/characters used for expressing linguistic phonemes. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Phonetic_Alphabet) This poster is the NATO Phonetic Alphabet, which is used for spelling things over the radio/telephone.
You just got this linguist all excited, then dropped me down when I saw that it was a military phonetic alphabet! Still cute, but not what I was expecting.
I like it because I really feel like i need to learn this to work on spelling over the phone. You know like when you spell out your name or street address to the airline assistant on the phone.
I have this poster. In fact I had a stall at a craft market a month or so ago, and her stall was next to mine (hence buying this lovely print)!
