Name: Baby X (in the womb)
Location: Phoenixville, PA
Color Inspiration: This room used to be our office and we painted it this dark gray blue color quite a while ago. When we found out we were having a baby, we loved the color so much we worked with everything else to pop off of it. So we chose bold bright colors with whites and browns to ground everything. We're having a boy and I'm about as girly as you can get. So our unborn child and I settled on aqua and green as a happy medium. We're both pleased with the results. So is the husband.
Tip for Using Color: Go overboard on the neutral and use color as an accent. Our neutral was the gray walls and browns. Pop your color from there. If you choose a bright bold paint for the walls, go heavy on the neutral in furniture and accessories. I think where you can go wrong is when everything is a bold bright color. You want to appreciate your colors and the neutrals allow that to happen.
Colors Used: We based our color story off of Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow (fabrics). We chose the grass green and aqua palette and went from there. The furniture is mostly a mix of white and mahogany. I have to give credit as well to the blog Young House Love for inspiration on refinishing the craigslist dresser we found! The chair is aqua velvet and came from Jennifer Delonge. Husband didn't know about that one until it arrived. Surprise!
Thanks for your colorful entry Amanda and good luck!

can't vote :-(
This is AWESOME!!!
LOVE! Everything works really well together without being overly matchy matchy. Love the subtle textures and vibrant pops of color! Oh and that credneza turned changing table! Just beautiful. One tip- I would raise up the oragami bird mobile as high as you can, curious little baby fingers will be pulling that sucker down in no time! Really beautiful job!
Sorry everyone - the voting has been enabled and we'll extend the voting time accordingly as well as leave Amanda's entry up at the top of the page for another half hour.

LOVE THIS ROOM! Fantastic job Amanda.
I love this. Can you please share the color of the walls? Also, where is that rug from? Great room.
Sorry -- one more question. I love the wall decals, too. I have seen similar ones, but where are these decals from?
Wow. Yes. Yes. Yes!

This is my favorite entry! The faux wood grain rug is genious!
Winner!
yes, please.
LOVE this entry - so put together! Are you a designer? Gorgeous! Congrats on the baby - boys are so fun!
I also just created an account to vote for this because I have never seen such a beautiful room! Where did you get the closet organizer and the owl bookends? I also noticed the Matte Stevens print in the background and, honestly, you might be my hero...
I'm not a designer...just a girl with a LOT of time on my hands.
The closet organizer is expedit from Ikea and the boxes in them area also from Ikea. The bookends are from Barnes and Noble. And yes that's Matte Stevens. Hearts to him :-)
Ok, I think I'm going to have to steal your room. I am expecting and I don't care if its a girl or boy, it's perfect. I'm a world away in Oklahoma so no one will ever know. Super great job. Best room I've ever seen on these contests :)
this room is wonderful! Any chance Amandadom could give us a room resources list (so we can all steal your room :) )?

Best nursery EVER. I want to be a baby just to live in there...and also for the napping purposes.

Gorgeous! I love this!
touche eekns
Bravo. You nailed it!
Holy cow - love it and how awesome are you for giving such a complete resource list! A++++++++ and gold stars for you. baby x is lucky:-)
$30 on CL for that beautiful midcentury dresser!! No way, what a steal!
Is the white top refinished or an extra piece attached?
I still can't believe it.
burnttoast, the white top is just the top of the dresser, painted white with a gloss finish
I stalked craigslist for MONTHS to find the perfect thing.
Can't votre modg! :(
So so cozy and warm. Love it!
This is also one of the greatest rooms I have ever seen on this website - well designed but achievable (cost wise) and livable. It's gorgeous.
I love the dark gray. I took imagination to see how it would work for a nursery. well done, indeed.
beautiful! gray and teal - good combo. what a blessed baby! i
This is my favorite ohdeedoh nursery ever!
Great job!
I just found out I've got a boy on the way and your room is exactly the inspiration I needed... thanks!
LOVING IT!!!
One little thing...if you two are not very petite I think your changing table is way too short--my back aches to look at it. I'm 5'7" and my changing table is 38" tall...I wouldn't go lower than 34".
Enjoy your baby and the room!
I'm 5'2'' so I'm set. My husband however is 6'2'' so he's in trouble.
scratch that, he's 6'4''. Pregnancy brain!
Gorgeous! We have that same rug for our little guy's nursery. It has a great texture to it, too.
oh WOW. so inventive and beautiful! did i miss the resource for the pouf?
What Joel Dewberry Fabric did you use for the drapes? I love the light olive color and modern print!
Do you love the Luxe Glider?
Is it comfortable and how tall are you and your spouse? I cannot find a store near me that has it in store to sit in....
I absolutely love this nursery!
With that dresser- how tall is it? and was it fairly simple to refinish it yourself?
You've inspired me to try this color for my 2 year old's walls. I'm going to do pops of blue and orange color... but nervous about pulling it off! Hope I can do something even remotely as cool as this room!!! (especially on such a tight budget)
side/end table is also at lowes.com for a few bucks less after you use their 10% coupon w/ the option to return for free if it doesn't work
Can you tell me if this glider is comfortable? Can you lean your head back and rest on it? Does it have nice fluid movement?
Room is great!
