Forget the other birds, where can I get a duck hook like that one?.
In the wake of Domino closing its doors as we hurriedly download Every. Single. Photo. from their gallery archives, AT reader Beth sent us this new website that just popped up: Houzz.com is a bit like Facebook for interiors. You can set up a free profile and create your own ideabooks that can be shared with friends; browse photos that other users have uploaded (or upload your own)...or even cyberstalk your favorite designer or architect. We've pulled a few of our favorite interiors to share after the jump...
After checking out a few ideabooks and photo galleries, it feels like the majority of the interiors are pretty modern and high end...We suspect it's from portfolios of architecture firms and interior decorators. But as more and more users upload their own photos, it'll be exciting to see a nice variety of different styles represented. Another cool feature? Once you create your own ideabook, you can convert it to a widget and post it on your own site or blog for your mates to look at and comment on.
Love the feel of this London kitchen. It's a bit traditional and rustic, but the colors of the cabinets updates the look.
(Nearly) every girl's fantasy bedroom. It's got a high end look (the classic Arco-style lamp, acrylic vanity, and faux fur throws) mixed with a few funky DIY touches, like the bedside lamps which look like stacked lampshades.
We've all oohed and aahed over black and white interiors, but we've never really seen a black and white kitchen like this one in Hong Kong. Simple, sleek, and chic--and easy to replicate on a budget with Ikea options.
Check out more photos and start your own ideabook over at Houzz.com. Thanks Beth for the tip!
