Did you hear the news? One of our favorite home furnishing retailers - West Elm - has introduced a kids line. Sort of.
I was browsing the West Elm site last night and came across a new-to-me category of kids furniture. So far they've got a Parsons-style table sized for children and to go with it, children's chairs that can be personalized. We're hoping that for now it's just a toe in the water, but that in the future West Elm will be introducing more furnishings and accessories for kiddos. To check out what they've got so far, visit West Elm.

My 5 year old played at this table the other night at the new west elm on Beverly...it was perfect! Luv it!
I've only been into West Elm a handful of times so I'm not 100% sure what their 'look' is but these both look like Ikea to me.
Aw dude, no, it's West Elm, does not look like Ikea. Check the website.
My jaw dropped when I saw the price of the play table ($199)! Especially b/c it's basically a slightly bigger version of the Ikea Lack ($12.99)
I love these pieces but wish the price point was a little lower. The West Elm chairs are more expensive than the comparable Little Jake Chairs at Room & Board...kind of crazy. That said it is pretty cute that they can be personalized.
Cute, but agree that if this is the look u want, do it for way less at Ikea.
I agree with some of the others. I am in the market for a new table for my daughter, but this one, as cute as it is, simply does not seem worth the money. it really does look too much like a lack table (and yes, I am staring at a lack table right now, it is in the corner of my family room tucked in between a couple of couches, it really does look a lot alike, finish snazzy finish aside), obviously bigger, but also 20 times the price...
ikea really needs to get into the play table business (and I know they have a couple, but not enough).
I have a set in my living room that looks exactly like this but in dark brown. Lack table ($8) and 2 little chairs from Target ($12.50 each). Probably not as well made, but frankly my kid is going to wreck whatever she has, so who cares? Sorry, West Elm, I will shop at your store as soon as I win the lottery, but probably not before that. :(
