Last year's release of the Apple iPad 2 was pretty mind-blowing to say the least, and with so many of you using it as your daily computing device, we can only imagine how tempting it will be to throw down for the new Apple iPad 3 when it drops in the next couple of weeks. For those who like their rumors served on a plate, here we go again.
As with all industry rumors, take everything with a grain of salt. The more salt you take, the less crushing disappointment will result. That said, here we go!
AppleInsider reports:An LCD panel from Sharp, a back plate with an Apple logo, and a 30-pin dock connector all claimed to be from Apple's so-called "iPad 3" were obtained by iLab Factory. When all three were placed together, the site found that they were a match, suggesting the components are from a prototype build of the next iPad.
Very Likely:
• It will have an A6 processor
• Siri will be integrated into iPad 3 experience
• Improved battery life
• Improved camera lens and sensor similar to iPhone 4S
• It will have larger capacity options (as flash memory prices continue drop, this is almost guaranteed)
Maybe:
• It will look like the iPad 2, but a little thicker
• A6 processor will be Quad-Core processor
• It will have 2048x1536 pixel Retina Display
• It will be announced March 7th
• AT&T and Verizon 4G LTE wireless network compatible
Probably Not:
• It will have a 3D display
• An 8" 'mini' version
• It will come with a touch-sensitive stylus
• It will redesign your bathroom (although adding Apartment Therapy on your FlipBoard feed certainly helps!)
• It will be announced February 24 (Steve Job's birthday)
!

Commercial Flour Sa...
Why is Apartment Therapy posting iPad rumors of all things? Can you just stick with showing us cool interior design and solutions for homes? Don't get me wrong, I love the iPad too, but I come here for something else.
Wait. What was so mind-blowing about the iPad 2 again..?
What would REALLY be mind-blowing about the iPad 3 is if their "larger capacity options" meant a slot for an SD card... honestly, though, while there may be a larger capacity option because it is so cheap to do so, I don't think you will necessarily continue to see this trend upwards. Most mobile operating systems are moving more toward cloud storage and services, which, in theory, will rending additional device storage much less of a necessity.
@scottdot
So I take it you didn't follow unplggd back in the day?
I do hope they come out with a mini-version, i've used my partner's iPad a little bit, and honestly i find it too big. My 7in Kyros is more my size (although its a POS), so a mini-iPad would quite to my liking.
I think if they made the bezel a little smaller and kept with the size, I might consider making it my first purchase!
ipad3 could be a mini.. but doubtful.. apple has a way of sticking with a plan, even if it is still in the buggy phase.. siri and better quality front and back cams would be nice..
however it would be nice if they added flash card slots as well as usb ports instead of just sticking to the one charging/transfer/port, and since there are many applications where a stylus is much better than using a finger.. it would be nice if one was included
iPad likely won't be getting smaller...but I wouldn't be surprised to see Apple release a giant-sized iPod Touch at some point in the future.
And they aren't adding flash card slots or other obsolete interfaces to physical media because that would be redundant at this point - you might as well be asking them to add a 3.5" floppy drive.
Data is rapidly moving into the cloud, where it'll be available immediately and on-demand to every other device - your iPod, iPad, iMac or iTV.
@sunspot - this is true. And Verizon and AT&T will gladly take your overage charges for streaming all this data form the cloud and going over your data allotment...
