In the city, it's nearly impossible to find space to do woodwork, let alone build your own furniture. On the other hand, if you do have the space and some know-how, it's amazing what you can pull off with a few blocks of wood, some lacquer, and stain. This before and after is one amazing transformation you've gotta see to believe.

Of course, you need to throw some process shot in there to fully appreciate the epic transformation of a few measly pieces of wood into the stunning cabinet you see below.

Among the tools used:

• primer (and tons of it)
  
• spray paint
  
• glossy finish
  
• wax
  
• wood stain
  
• hinges
  
• a whole lot of diligence

We were told the project took approximately 4 days to complete, so we imagine the guy's pretty seasoned at what he does. Heck, we might even have to give him a ring the next time we need some custom modern furniture made.

You'll also notice the attention to detail as he's cut ventilation holes into the bottom of the cabinet, a simple feature that's still bafflingly uncommon in the home theater furniture realm.

We always say it's the little details make a great piece of furniture and this stunning beauty is certainly no exception. Epic DIY win? We think so.
