We're pretty sure this stuff isn't green, despite the label's promise of "Natural Orange Oil." But when one of our favorite green products, OSMO Liquid Wax Cleaner, couldn't do the trick, Pledge came to the rescue, handily reviving a tired wood floor in our new rental.
We were pretty sure the floor needed to be refinished, but this stuff worked wonders. (We disregarded the advice about not using it on floors—they were slippery for a day or two, but then it soaked in.)
So here's the paradox: we're pretty sure the orange oil is the only natural thing in this stuff; it's got the kind of aggressive fake citrus fragrance that's used to mask all sorts of nasty odors. But instead of the dust and offgassing of a new finish, the Pledge Orange Oil gave us a floor that looks decent... and with minimum of labor. So we're wondering: can it be green to use a few chemicals every now and then, especially if they help to extend the life of things?
