Q: I'm moving into an apartment with a U-shaped shower rod and am having trouble finding the proper shower curtain. Various Google searches have lead me no where. Does anyone have recommendations? Is it best to just combine a stall and regular curtain?

anxiously awaiting this answer. i have an old claw foot tub with the shower conversion and I have to use three liners to get around the whole thing. :-)
I have the same situation, and use 2 shower curtains.

.. great quality (not the cheapest solution) but looks fantastic and is really solid. the only bad thing is the brand is in Germany so you have to talk to them for shipping costs etc...
Use two shower curtains. That's what I did and it worked very well.
We needed to update our bathroom on the cheap, which meant keeping our clawfoot tub and replacing the old crappy hardware. So I spent a lot of time looking at this.
Here are two websites, one is a Canadian distributor with a more limited selection, but they can get and modify whatever you need, and one is US

A Google search for a clawfoot surround shower curtain comes up with a lot of answers, though most are for liners as opposed to pretty curtains.

Though, now that I think about it, you could put in a liner and almost use any window curtain as the outer layer. Good luck!
I ordered this one from Lowe's. Love it so far! I especially appreciate the magnets on the bottom.

And in addition to the links I posted above, we fashioned our own curtain rod out of plumbing supplies as an intermediate fix (which is going on 4 years now), and used 3 shower curtains. If you are renting it's a cheaper option, but doesn't look too hot. I called this our ghettofitted bathroom.
Oh, ignore my posts, I see you already have the U shaped rod and are not looking for one.
Ditto everybody on using multiple shower curtains. We do this for our oval shower ring on a clawfoot tub, and we overlap the two curtains when putting them on the shower rings, so that there's no gap.
We have a half enclosed bathtub and ordered a track system for the ceiling, similar to a hospital bed divider. With a little sewing of some shower curtains, it turned out really well.

I use two shower curtains.
I use two shower curtains and I like it, because the opening between them gives me access to the faucets.
My first apartment was an L-shape with the side and bottom of the tub exposed. We ended up using a shower curtain for the long side and left the short side open - occasionally hanging clothes from the curtain rod to steam them out.
Looks like 2 curtains would work just fine. I think that's what my aunt and uncle did with their clawfoot... then you can have tiebacks and a beautiful canopy for when you host parties at your place. It's a chance to really dress up your bathroom - not an inconvenience.
Use 2 curtains. @itchykitty - nah, never saw anything like you're describing in a so-called 'ghetto' home - did see something like it in a trailer park, though.
I bought two, sewed them together so they make one looooong curtain and voilá, no leaks from in between!
