Name: Isi & Eka (10 & 2)
Location: Toronto, Canada
When we moved into our house 5 years ago, this room belonged to my oldest daughter, Isi, who worked with me from time to time to style the room and change it and move furniture around as we both felt inspired. As our family expanded from 2 kids to 4, bedroom sharing became inevitable and Isi got a roommate.
Isi's room was always light and airy with loads of white furniture and whimsical details collected over time. As we carved out part of the room for her toddler sister, Eka, we needed to marry different styles and colors of furniture to make it all a cohesive unit but also separate spaces for two very distinct individuals.
Eka's crib is dark and given to us by some friends, so painting it to match the rest of the room was not an option. We resorted to adding color punches throughout the room, decals to two walls tying the girls' beds and dark mirror on the other side of the room to make the crib feel like it belongs in the overall space.
For now the girls are enjoying their space and we are already changing things around as per Isi's creative flair.
