- What I Love About My Small Home:
- We love living with the art we've collected together from our friends, family, school-friends and flea market finds. I love waking up in the morning, walking into the kitchen to put the kettle on, and seeing all the creativity on the walls. It makes me smile every day.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- We try to keep clutter at bay by having lots of hooks to hang stuff. Jacob built an amazing bike rack in our foyer for the building's bikes.

I would not want eveyone to be able to view my day planner. Other than that, nice.
Great space! I'd like to see more than just the living room though.
Yeah, I'd love to see the rest of the place! I like what I see.
Good for you for sneaking your doggie into the reflection. What a cutie!
This is GREAT. Makes me want to live in an even smaller place than I already do.
LYONSTILL, looks to me like the planner is on the inside wall (as indicated by the shelf). This is a really nice place, great lay-out, and VERY cute dog!
Very charming and balanced!
Love the look of that chalkboard wall even if I am not a fan of chalkboards myself (dust, sound, etc). Great job!
Love your puppy!!! The space is great too!
Cool post but more pics from within the apartment would have made for a better entry.
Love it.
I'm confused. Are those all your bikes or do they belong to other people?
Love this apartment. So many lovely touches and pieces. Especially love the basket to the left of the loveseat!
wanted: bike explanation
Thatsa lotta bikes, but I must say I envy your having the room for storing them so near the entrance. And that is probably the best use of chalkboard paint I've seen, maybe ever. If only we had smoother walls...
Totally gorgeous and inspiring. So creative.
love it!!
Wow- really like this apartment.
BUT
How many people live here? The title says Isobel's- but she talks about "we" and "Jacob"?
If it is a couple then that day planner chalk wall is *genius* for coordinating schedules.
Thanks for all the feedback! I wish I'd posted pic's of our kitchen too. You can see more of the before and after on my blog, http://hotelrhoscho.blogspot.com/ - Isobel
Finally , an place with bikes that look like they are actually used for biking and not just as hip decor! Dirt on the walls and all!
I can't vote for any place that has chalkboard paint. It's almost like I can hear and feel the squeeky/dryness of it. I probably have issues from having spent so much time at the front of the classroom writing, "I will not roll my eyes at Sister Victor."
really nice place. lovely decorated. penguin sketch rocks!
SO Cute! I love the chalkboard! Great way to make sure you aren't double booking your weekends :)
Your home looks really nice - I'd like to see all of it, though! Just about to put the same shelving up here, encouraging to see it in action.
I absolutely adore the mirror with ledge above the dresser. Where can I find one that's similar?
The chalkboard wall is ingenious. Love how you mixed artwork with storage and made everything look pretty AND organized. This is giving me some ideas for my non-existing entry - which is really a wall in my living room. Love your artwork too and the pop of orange in the living room. Would like to see more. A housetour maybe?
I am impresed by your colors. Who knew that I would like charcoal and red-orange? I also like your spirit. It show through.
Love the blackboard wall! And the bike storage! Great place :)
You got my vote on the bike storage alone!!! Sooooooooooo jealous you have the space for sweet bike rack like that! The rest of your pics are great too!
Love the art and the whole feel of the space.Nice!!!
You can really see that a lot of thought and love has been poured into this space.
Isobel here... I've posted some of the out-takes on my blog so you can see more of the apartment...

enjoy:)
I, too, just painted the wall closest to my front door with chalkboard paint. Yours looks AWESOME!!!
I really like this space. Thank you for sharing more on your blog.
gorgeous x
I don't think this has been asked already, do you mind sharing what paint colour you have used in the bedroom on the wall behind the bed? Cute apartment and cute dog too.
Sure, it's Beacon grey 2128-60 from Benjamin Moore Tranquility collection. The living room is calm and barren plain from the same collection.
