American actors Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry have created a comfortable escape in Umbria, Italy. The New York Times shows us the couple's renovated 350-year-old stone house in Umbria, Italy where a recent renovation helps bridge the gap between an old traditional home and contemporary living...

By using local materials that were also used in the original structure, the transition from old to new is nearly flawless. Locally made terracotta tiles for the roof and floors, local chestnut wood frames and shutters the windows and the exterior stone comes from the local San Terenziano quarry.
