Southfanning was working from the dark recesses of a basement home office when he decided it was time to emerge from the subterranean confines and build himself a new place to work. He wanted a place free from distractions and noise inside the house, where privacy and quiet and would reign supreme with a better view. What he wanted was a backyard office...a shed workspace he dubbed, the Shoffice!
I can't do a bathroom as there's no way to run water, and I don't need it any bigger than it is. The size keeps me from doing anything but working, so will discourage it from becoming an extension of living space. I wanted it to be more high tech as well, but as the project went on and budget was used up, some of that had to get cut. More high tech = more $$$
The little shed office is hooked up for electricity and connected via underground conduit to an Ethernet connection from the main house for fast internet, while the interior is carpeted and fully furnished with a desk, task chair, a trio of monitors, speakers, and even a arm chair to kick up for a break. It's an impressive example of what can do with a backyard shed as an office, whether DIY or prefabricated.
