After swearing the press to secrecy with a top-secret preview in May and then slowly taunting us with small doses of what’s to come in advertisements, Target finally releases more details about their upcoming Missoni collection!
In what will be their largest designer collaboration to-date, Target gears up to release the much-anticipated capsule collection with Missoni. The line will include more than 400 pieces in fashion and home décor, priced at $2.99 to $599 (with most items under $40).
We’ve been talking a lot recently about the steadfast chevron home décor trend, and with Missoni’s super-accessible Target line featuring tons of their iconic zigzags, it seems this pattern will only continue to increase in popularity.
Missoni for Target is expected to hit stores and Target.com September 13th, for a limited time only.

Do Want!
That bike! I can't wait.
Wow! Definitely marking my calendar!
I'll be the first one in line. YaY
Not really, but this is very exciting.
Finally? Wasn't all this info released last week?
i love their bath towels!
Yuck
a lot of this is a little loud for me but i do kinda love those curtains.
I want the furniture and the bike. Great job Target.
Aiyee, that pattern and colors, STRAIGHT out of the 70's! *runs screaming*
[@kiacook is today's featured poet. - couldn't have said it better, LOL!]
I KNOW! (straight out of the 70's). Nostalgia! Reliving my childhood sans the offending orange shag carpeting and wood paneling! Love!
Love it!!!
That BIKE! Oh my god! The outdoor sofa is pretty sick too. Do want!
Missoni's otherwise tacky signature zigzags is redeemed only the quality of the fabrics they use in their original home line. Take away the quality and all you have is the tacky.
... though I admit the bike looks pretty cool.
Arch, I find their zigzags and lines recycled from native designs. I started seeing Kilims and Navajo rugs.
Are designers seeing a bicycle as an accessory to decorate? Kate Spade and now Missoni.
In other news, Target took out additional liability policies to cover the inevitable personal injury claims resulting from seizures induced by their new Missoni line of products.
I think its nice to have the option of buying Missoni at affordable prices. Still, I have to agree with the others who have said the signature style might be lost in translation. I'll definitely check out the new goods, but I doubt I'll buy much. It doesn't really go with my current style.
I've always wanted a piece from Missoni. I wish that Target shipped to Canada. 2013 for Target's arrival to the North is just too far away.
Here are some of my favs - I really want the throw and the bicycle:

Also, I like the Missoni pattern when it's in a larger scale. I feel it highlights the choice of colours. When the pattern is small and fine the graphic nature of the design is lost.
I don't like it. I bet this will sell people lots more stuff they REALLY DON'T NEED.
I've never really felt the Missoni pull before, but I saw some of the scarves they're doing for this collection, and they were really lovely. Maybe in small does (the little cool toned box, the killer coffee cups I saw somewhere) I could enjoy it more...
Cannot. Wait. :)
I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this stuff is fugly. To each their own I guess.
I don't really like this stuff. I like chevron sometimes though... these are just a little too much/loud/bright
Missoni is iconic, but a lot of Missoni for Target looks like kitsch.
Oh happy day! I can't wait.
I like the shower curtain and the bike.
In the photos you can see the materials may be too cheap... the spinner suitcase for instance looks like it could have been great, but that the print process and fabric were low quality.
Still, I'm crossing my fingers that some of it is great in person.
These remind me of clothing with Missoni knock-off patterns. It doesn't do it. Even "real" Missoni can be a miss, as seen by all the discount wool scarves at Century 21.
I like the little blue storage box, and the blue candle. The candle could easily be incorperated into a peacock theme.
I saw a Missoni for Target ottoman featured in a recent "House Beautiful", but was disappointed to note that the seams didn't match up and it consequently looked carelessly constructed and therefore cheap; I hope this isn't indicative of the quality of the collaboration!
I was neutral toward this collection before but now I'm really starting to get **over** it! Too much hype! SOME cute things but it's all been so overhyped that there won't be any left by the time I get there, so why bother?
P.S. Put A Chevron On It! http://putabirdonitblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/turkey-or-trendy-3-put-chevron-on-it.html
That outdoor set is amazing!
Sorry, still boycotting Target!
I'm in the 'fugly' camp. WAAAAAY too busy for me and the colors are garish. Nope...pass.
not a fan. i'm predicting a lot of little red stickers on this stuff in my neighborhood.
I would start riding a bicycle again just to ride this one. Sign me up.
@charmgirl: I'm with you!
Honestly, I've been all about Missoni for the last few years, and was just feeling the love wane. I spree at Target will let me go out in a blaze of zig-zaggin' glory.
Eeek! Is this stuff new because it shoots me straight back to the 70's! OOGLY. I do like the bones of the table/chair set and the color of the goldish pillow. I'm with kbtoo...this stuff'l be seeing the endcaps :(
so when? when?
Yuck, too busy and the worst colors. Like chevrons but the small ones are too busy, maybe some file folders, but that would be it for me.
Oh my there is so much of this that I like.
zig zag gag.
Watch out for those Target bikes. We bought 2 this summer and the assemblers don't have a clue. Gears/brakes not connected properly, son had a bad fall because of it. Took both to local bike shop where they asked "who put these together? monkeys?"
The candles look cool, but the rest looks a hot mess.
I love the bike, and I don't ride enough to get an actual Nice bike, so If the price is right maybe this is finally just the right cheapo cycle for me (though more likely I'll just keep skimming craigslist).
I saw the espresso set and I liked it very much and will buy, but honestly, I'm over the "much hyped" collections. What's the point in being unique when everyone else will have the same thing?
Eh.
Aesthetically offensive. Send it back to the 70's.
