We've got posts galore about productivity and information resource apps. But sometimes you're in dire need of a small break and a laugh. When that need arises, may I offer a recommendation: Face Stealer. Emily and I spent this weekend chuckling profusely as we both virtually tried on an assortment of faces ranging from a dog, to an anime character, to the President, to our favorite Lannister... Face Stealer app's sole purpose is to superimpose another person's face over your own; the virtual face adjust in realtime to your movements, making it a wrinkle-producing exercise of "let's see what sort of funny face I can make". The effect is both creepy and addictive fun, as you'll notice from my short clip donning Einstein's face below.
The app designates key points to match a photo with your facial expressions and replaces your face with another person's face in real-time. Additionally, you can upload any other face from online using a search bar or use a photo you've taken with your smartphone camera to expand your gallery of "masks" to try on. Parents, thank me later after you've loaded this onto your phone to give to the kids before a long roadtrip.
Face Stealer is absolutely free, and is compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPod touch 5th generation or later, and iPad via the App Store.
