There are some of us who read all the blogs and fawn over architecture that we are about 80% sure we could never afford. To those people, look no further. Why have a full size house, when you can have your own replica of some great retro housing? Thanks to the train collectors, our pocketbooks have been saved. Click through the jump to learn more...

Atomic Ranch is a great publication all around. But this season (it's a quarterly publication) we found a great heads up to something that wasn't on our Mid Century radar in the slightest. Model homes... for trains no less. Not being big into train collecting (neither time, patience or space really allows), it's something we never would have thought of, until now.

The model home pictured above was made for miniature railroads back in the day. They still make the same house (in two different scales, which is why there is two different color options) with the same vintage look today.
Check out the full question and answer from Atomic Ranch this month (sorry that part of their publication isn't online for us to share with you), you won't be sorry as it's a great place to find vintage inspiration (you can read some of this month's publication online).

Let us know if you find them for sale other places, we think these are super fun!
