Color Tips: "Try to balance the room. We went with an equal amount of white and blue to try to keep an open feel to the room. Too much blue would have closed the room in. Be sure to tie everything together. Initially we didn't have much red on the white half of the room, but just a few pieces really brought it all together. Experiment. Don't be afraid to try colors that you normally wouldn't think of using. A little bit of a bold color can go a long way."
Color Resources: "Home Depot's Oops Paint. It's gallons of paint that are mixed but end up the wrong color from what the initial customer wanted. It's resold for around $5 a gallon and is a good way to find some unique colors. Photos. Wander around your neighborhood and snap some photos of signs, buildings, anything you find interesting. Then browse through them and see if any colors stand out."
