Over on Apartment Therapy DC today, we saw inside a super inspiring space &mdash Jaclyn & Brian's Bright, Bold and Boisterous Home. One of the features that stuck out the most was their unique and playful artistic abilities that we wish we had!

Like a lot of rowhomes in Philadelphia, the fireplace has been covered up. It's an extremely unfortunate act (our fireplace has been covered in our Philly rowhome as well) that we just can't seem to understand. We have our TV on an IKEA LACK bench, but we're really inspired by what Jaclyn and Brian did.

They mounted their TV on their chalkboard painted wall. Then they drew on a fireplace and a Marlin above it! Who needs a working fireplace when you have one created with chalk? It's an extremely creative way to inexpensively frame the television.

This really got the gears in our head moving and has motivated us to take the next step to achieve true creativity and interest in our home. Next time an idea pops in our head, we're not going to take the easy way out!

What's a creative tech element in your home?
