Name: Jake (4)
Location: San Francisco, CA
Color Inspiration: The starting point for this room was my son's love of all things red. But I knew an all-red room for an energetic toddler was a recipe for disaster. Then I spotted this beautiful deep turquoise blue and knew I had a color match made in heaven! My son also loves everything related to construction - from diggers to cranes - so I threw in some construction site yellow and balanced it all with khaki green for a color combination I never, ever expected to use, but ended up loving.
Tip for Using Color: Balance strong colors with lots of white. A simple white shelf can look almost architectural against a brightly painted wall. And don't be afraid to layer - simple color schemes with just two hues are fine, but if you can add in more accents successfully, the space will look less contrived. Most of all, use only colors that 'speak' to you.
Colors Used: Electric Blue, Cherry Red, Pale Aqua, Yellow, Khaki.
Thanks for your colorful entry Lucy and good luck!

This room is beautiful! I look at these rooms all the time, but this one made me register so I could vote! Where did you find the construction decals? Where is the bed from? Any details you could share about paint color, etc would be so helfpul! I LOVE this room!
This could be my son's room! He too loves red and work machines. We have those sheets. Where did you get the decals? So cool!
Great punch of blue!
this is a beautiful room, love seeing the use of primary colors.
Probably a strange question but can you tell me where you purchased your curtain hardware? The white rod are so hard to find. Thanks!
Thanks for the kind feedback everyone. To answer some questions:
The bed is the Da Vinci Modena bed from allchildrensfurniture.
TheDecals are from Decomodwalls on Etsy.
The paint is Benjamin Moore's Electric Blue.
The curtain rod I'm afraid I can't recall where I got it, but you can buy white rods on PBteen.
Hope that helps!
a very calming and beautiful room
Great room! The lamp looks vintage, do you know anything about it?
Oops! I meant the chandelier! Love it! Any info on it?
