Jakob's "Tschorn" Play Supermarket

Tired of impersonal visits to the supermarket where the checkout person mindlessly scans your items while barely making eye contact? At Jakob's supermarket, you get a smile every time!

As you know, we're enamored with DIY play kitchens so this riff on the idea delights us! Jakob's wish for his fourth birthday was a supermarket to play with and his creative mother, Yvonne, was happy to comply. As you can see, Jakob keeps his market well-stocked with the freshest fruits, vegetables and baked goods he can find.

Where did Jakob learn his wonderful customer service skills? From the friendly folks at his local market, owned by the Tschorn family. When he told them that he got a play "Tschorn's" for his birthday they gave him his own kid-sized uniform to honor his little attic franchise. How wonderful!

Yvonne's family of five are world travelers and currently hanging their hats in Germany. You can see more of Jakob's birthday party (like his woodland-themed sweets) and more wonderful stories about this family's creative life at Yvonne's blog Moline. She also has an Etsy shop filled with lovely handcrafted items including gorgeous paper collages and crocheted granny square doll purses.
