The top row of photos shows the amazing transformation of Liz's apartment, and the bottom row are a few glimpses into Jamie's own home (from a great house tour and interview on Indie NC). As you can see if you scroll through the top, Jamie designed the new rooms around the pieces that worked—the cute orange shell rocker, the gray pin-tucked duvet, and so on. She helped Liz to fluff, rearrange and re-organize, and to navigate ebay and craigslist in search of cheap, charming accents. You can see some more photos of the apartment on Jamie's blog.
Furbish is based in North Carolina, but Jamie also works with clients via e-mail (Liz, for example, lives in Detroit). Her approach is interactive, with the goal of helping clients identify their personal style and apply it in their homes over the long term. She provides a design scheme, complete with a floor plan and suggestions for paint colors, fabrics, and other products sourced within the client's budget. If you read I Suwannee at all, you know that Jamie's got a real talent for uncovering thrifted treasures, and she hopes to help her clients cultivate this skill as well.
Check out the Furbish web site for more info, or e-mail Jamie at email@example.com for her rates. And by all means click over to I Suwannee, where many more of Jamie's projects and ideas are available for your daily reading pleasure.
