Renting makes personalizing a home tricky, or at least it did for us. Our 3 rental issues included: 1) Solid concrete walls 2) storage 3) office space . Concrete means you can't hang things very easily. Our solution was picture hanging strips! We created a wall paper effect of floor to celling frames.
The other great thing about picture strips is that there are no holes left in the walls. it also lets our friends and family hang out with us. We moved cross country from Texas to Florida, so it's nice to be "surrounded" by loved ones. To conquer the storage issue, we used baskets everywhere, found a coffee table and tv console with drawers, and used a door to organize our kitchen. Since I work from home, I needed an office, and we made a little nook in our living room. I used magazine files to store papers vertically and more picture hanging strips to hang folders on the wall. It may not be perfect, but we like it.
Thanks Jamie!

Very cute! Great colorways, Jamie!
Are the giant fingerprints yours? I love them! DIY? If so, please share!
Love it! Especially the desk!
Not a fan of 'exposed' kitchen utensils or pots and pans hanging but I do understanding using creative ways to store items when you are limited on space.
I think you did a fabulous job not only with the decor but with the colors.
Nicely done.
he neigbor! nice to see someone who lives closeby with a nice appartment.
Love the geometric red, yellow, blue, white, and grey wall hangings. Can you share where you got them?
Like the grey table. DIY remake? In the same boat with stucco walls. Picture hanging strips; those 3m plastic hooks & pull off sticky backs or something else? I tried a couple & after a few months, the lightweight art fell off the wall & took a bit of the stucco. Plus, they're not really cheap.
what are these mystical picture strips, and where do i find them?
Love love love! Fabulous inspiration for renters who are constrained by the no-paint, no-holes demands of many landlords. I totally dig the finger print art work too--would love a source of DIY instructions!
Yes, I hope this become a full tour! I would love to see the kitchen.
Love your color scheme. Especially love the desk.
Really nice. Too bad the point of the article is about picture strips and you forgot to tell people what they are and who makes them. :(
