Are J & J Kohn Chairs Worth the Caning Expense?

Good Questions

Q: I have four J&J Kohn chairs that are all in need of re-caning. I have taken them to a couple of shops, but no one wants to touch the blind cane, and the one shop that does gave me an estimate of about $800.00 per chair ($400 seat, and $400.00 back). I have no idea if these chairs are desirable or if they are worth the investment. I have seen many other versions of Kohn chairs, mostly bentwood, but can't find anything on chairs like mine. Any information would be helpful.
