Jan Parr, editor-in-chief of Chicago Home + Garden, shared her summer style with us:

Sun or Shade?: Sun!

The Color of Summer 2010: White

All Time Favorite Vacation:

Why leave the Chicago area in the summer? We've waited so long to get to this point.... I love my back deck, but for a longer getaway, I love Harbor Country in Michigan. Of course, there is Italy.

Harbor Country

Most Refreshing Summer Drink:

Rosé—making my summers happier since 2004

Hooray, It's Rosé Wine Season Again

Planted In The Garden This Year:

A honeysuckle vine, a cardinal climber; pots of basil, parsley, rosemary; containers of sweet potato vine, white and purple petunias. I like to keep a streamlined color scheme.

Essential Summer Song for Party Playlist:

Summer Breeze as covered by the Isley Brothers (thanks to my husband).

Best Book in Beachbag:

If by book you mean magazines, yes! All of them. Bring 'em on: Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, Esquire, Vogue, InStyle, People, Elle Decor, Real Simple, Lucky—hey I would read Family Circle if it were lying around. Is that still published?

Thanks, Jan!

To celebrate the start of Summer, Apartment Therapy has asked some of the most stylish people we know to answer a few survey questions on how they enjoy the season.
More to come throughout June, July and August!
