My husband and I bought our house because of the yard (two small boys!). Some plantings were already there, but we've done the bulk of the work you see in the photos, including putting in the patio, the fountain and the surrounding plantings ourselves. We live outside from late March to late November, and we only grudgingly go in when the snow starts to fall.

I'm a self-taught gardener, with some help from my Dad and lots of books and magazines. Our garden has evolved over 10 years, and we are still working on some areas, but I imagine we'll never be "done", because it's too much fun to do!
