Name: Jane Flora (1 month)
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
My overall inspiration for Jane's room was for it to be soft and feminine with a bit of whimsy. I wanted it to fit with the rest of our house's light and airy decor and to not scream "nursery". The one main challenge was that we needed to keep our more traditional daybed to accommodate family members and guests in the future. I think the room represents my transitional style and will hopefully grow with Jane from baby to toddler.
After months of idea gathering on Pinterest I knew I wanted to go with a warm mustard-y yellow and soft coral-y pinks for the room. We painted the walls a soft white (Benjamin Moore's White Dove) to give the smaller sized room a lift. The DIY curtain panels (made with Thomas Paul's Aviary fabric in Maize) really set the tone for the space and sparked a bit of a bird theme. My husband and I also DIY'd the birdhouses, watercolor art print above the crib, yarn wreath, and changing table tray to save money where we could. I love mixing white with natural wood tones and added tons of texture with various pillows and rugs in the room.
This space was definitely made possible in part by IKEA and the many wonderful artists on Etsy. I'm so happy with how it all came together and now that our little girl is here she has made it complete!

Nomade Express Slee...
Lovely! I sighed when I saw the pics. I could relax in this room.
<3 I have a weird question, I would like to know the wall's height from floor to ceiling.
I like it! Thanks for showing us a daybed, AT.
Love this room!
Love the colors and LOVE her name!!!
Hmm, was thinking of going with pale apple green and apricot for my little girl. Now I'm thinking mustard and coral is the way forward - looks so lovely! Really like the quirky birdcages and the bird ornament on the table.
This is gorgeous! Job well done.
Beautiful!
This such a nice room, with simple decor. I could imagine doing something like this, too. It's not overdone, and with a few easy changes, the whole color scheme could change. Who knows, maybe jane will want apple green and eggplant when she's older.
LOVE! And yay from my hometown!
Very pretty room...love the bird houses as decor..great idea!
Fabulous space-relaxing, airy, welcoming, perfect! Everything works together nicely, well done!
Hi SueMay...the floor to ceiling height in Jane's room is 8.5 ft. Hope that helps! And thanks for all of the lovely comments everyone!
This is such a lovely nursery. I love the little bird houses on the wall, such a cute little touch.
LOVE your little one's nursery! Ditto on the day bed, we're turning our guest room into a baby room and we could move the crib in with us when we have family staying over. That's the plan anyway... Would love to hear how it works for you!
I adore the room! Perfect for a little girl. Where is the giant J from? And is it mirror or wood, it's hard to tell from the photo.
I have been looking all over for a rug exactly like that! Do you mind me asking where you found it?
The "J" on the wall is wood painted with an antique glaze...I purchased it on Etsy. And the striped rug is from Rugs USA...all sources (including links) and additional photos can be found on my website...www.clairebphotography.com!
Love this room and the colors! I'm thinking about doing something similar for our nursery. Do you know if you can still get the pillows and blanket from Target? Or what brand they are? Thanks so much!
Claire:
You've done such an amazing job with this nursery! It's elegantly simple and perfect for a baby, toddler, kid, grown-up. I might just copy it for our next little peanut!
