Jane Flora (1 month)
My overall inspiration for Jane's room was for it to be soft and feminine with a bit of whimsy. I wanted it to fit with the rest of our house's light and airy decor and to not scream "nursery". The one main challenge was that we needed to keep our more traditional daybed to accommodate family members and guests in the future. I think the room represents my transitional style and will hopefully grow with Jane from baby to toddler.
After months of idea gathering on Pinterest I knew I wanted to go with a warm mustard-y yellow and soft coral-y pinks for the room. We painted the walls a soft white (Benjamin Moore's White Dove) to give the smaller sized room a lift. The DIY curtain panels (made with Thomas Paul's Aviary fabric in Maize) really set the tone for the space and sparked a bit of a bird theme. My husband and I also DIY'd the birdhouses, watercolor art print above the crib, yarn wreath, and changing table tray to save money where we could. I love mixing white with natural wood tones and added tons of texture with various pillows and rugs in the room.
This space was definitely made possible in part by IKEA and the many wonderful artists on Etsy. I'm so happy with how it all came together and now that our little girl is here she has made it complete!
