Your Favorite Thing About Your Outdoor Space: I love the cozy intimate seating which allows me and my husband to sit and watch the sun set over the Statue of Liberty. When it gets dark, we light the candles on the floor for a romantic hour before returning to our hectic life.
Biggest Design Challenge With This Space: Having an outdoor space while living in an apartment is rare so I really wanted to put my deck space to good use. I wanted to entertain, to have enough seating but soon realize I couldn't fit all my patio furnitures, a grill, a deck box, all the herbs I've been dying to grow and a dining table set. So I ended up setting it up as a nice chill area where I can kick back after a rough day at work with a beer and watch the sun set. A grill would have been nice but there's always take out. My advice? Always measure your furnitures and decor (especially if they are big pieces) before buying them.
Tips for Creating a Great Small Outdoor Space: Adding a bright splash of color as an accent will brighten up any space, whether it's a pillow, a table, planters or umbrella. Just don't over do it or it may look a little chaotic.
