Location: Croton on Hudson, New York
Our small backyard was underused, not much to look at, and water collected in spots. We built a bluestone patio and added a low stone wall to enclose a portion of the patio. We planted shrubs as a privacy screen behind the wall.
Then we created a dry stream — a specialty of our company, Johnsen Landscapes & Pools — to aid drainage and add interest to our small plot of ground. I planted carex, annuals, siberian iris, grasses, and more along its border.
