We just got word of a new online marketplace called Janum with a great mission: they aim to show their customers the faces, places, fabrication processes and impacts of every product sold on their website. Their mantra? Seeing is believing, so they share all this info primarily through videos, filmed on site at the factories, to show you exactly how each product is made, who makes it, what's in it, and the impact it has on you, the planet, and the producers.
How does a product make it on to Janum? They base their selection criteria on three questions:
- Is it innovative? "Progress is inspiring concepts, non-toxic chemicals, low impact manufacturing, socially responsible value chains, and impact awareness. If a product meets these criteria, our team of organic chemists will conduct a thorough analysis. If it all checks out, we grab the cameras and hit the road."
- Are Cameras Allowed? "We believe in blatant transparency. We document everything we see and share it with you. If they don't let us in, we walk away. Join us on the farm, in the factory, and beyond."
- Do You Like It "You have the power to shape the future of Janum. If you love these products as much as we do, or even if you don't, let us know by posting a comment on your product's page. Any feedback is good feedback."
