- What I Love About My Small Home:
- I love the warm modern feel -- the contrast between the stark white and the wood. The glass doors allow for plenty of extra sun so the space is super bright. The most unique feature in the apartment is the skewed floating box (back wall of kitchen) which separates the main living spaces. It's an artful focal point in the room, almost like a sculpture. I also love the small Edison light bulbs on the ceiling -- they provide an interesting texture during the day and great warm light at night. The alcove that serves as a DJ booth isn't bad either - it was a perfect fit.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- The biggest challenge has been storage. The kitchen has plenty of cabinets but where do I put a broom, mop, tools etc.? Downsizing my belongings to only the essentials was the first step and has been liberating, but customizing the one closet with organizers has been the true lifesaver. I've fit everything in it: clothes, shoes, extra art work, luggage, even a small filing cabinet. Also a bed with storage drawers underneath has been great for linens, towels and other random items.

Love the art in the apartment!. Do you know who the artists are and where other work by these artists be purchased?
Mr. Jarrett....your home is alright with me... I really like it...simple....please know you got a vote from me!!!
Eames-alicious!
why didn't you hang the transit scroll? seems like a missed opportunity...
The art really makes it!
I like it!
The painting above the bed is spectacular.
Not my particular style but it is very nice...I would have to put some rugs down, though, for my feetsies!!
Beautiful!
Looks great!
A really lovely apartment with tons of light. Agree that the wood lends a nice warmth and the pop of color of the wonderful art is great! Well done.
For me, this one's the winner. Great job.
I love this apartment.............................oh man, love it!!!
Where are those graphic pillows from? I've been looking for something like those.
You have my vote. I too love the art over your bed. I can't say exactly why but I do.
Well done! I'd love any information about the art work.
yes LOVE the art! fantastic.
Really nice (but where do you put your alarm clock when you go to bed?)
One thing I've really come to appreciate in this year's competition is when furniture is arranged with an eye to making the best overall use of the total space. Most of the entries have beautiful furniture etc but I'm surprised how many of them have failed to arrange it to make the most of the small footprint of their homes. I think you've done a really good job on that front (and of course your things are beautiful too!)
I really love the artwork over the bed! So intense!
WOW! Love it! Especially the kitchen and the living room!
Love this place! Stylish but homey. I love the horizontal grain of the kitchen cabinets and they are the perfect color too. And in terms of the downsizing to the essentials, sometimes when you have a lot of storage, it is just an excuse to fill it with random 'stuff'!
Perfect!!
Really well done. I'm guessing no rugs was an intentional choice, but I did find myself wondering if they would warm the space up even more.
you had me at ART!!! i'm so in love with your place!!!! it's perfect!
Awesome...so clean and bright and so much visual interest! Love the angled kitchen wall with the art on the backside. Seems bigger than 550 sf. Wish we could see the bathroom!
There isn't anything "negative" to say about your place.....I think you did a fantabulous job decorating. Very clean, very organized, and very cool. I feel as if you put some thought into your space, as if each piece was carefully selected and not just a thrown togther. If it were thrown together, happy accidents do happen.
I will say this, I like that Brookly poster, but please hang it. Thats all :)
AWESOME!!! Love this space so much! So creative!
Many windows! I like it!
This one is the winner for me!
Love it! Especially the bedroom!
Love it Love it Love it!! The entire apartment is so well done...you win!
I love the way you incorporated the floating/tilty wall into the decor. Very cool.
It looks like you might have an awesome outdoor space, too. Will we see a Small Cool Outdoor entry from you? I'm curious.
Where did you get the Liberation Beats artwork from?
