Name: Jasper (7) & Wylie (3)
Location: Petaluma, California
When our family moved from Oakland, CA to a small town in Sonoma County last year, we decided to start rooming our two young sons together. I decided to move our then two year old Wylie into a twin bed straight from the crib, and created a little bunk room for them so that their visiting cousins and future sleepover buddies could spend the night.
Their playroom across the hall houses their toys, and most of their books are stored out in our family room, so their bedroom is dedicated to quiet time and sleeping. By design it is a relaxing, non-distracting space, incorporating only their most mellow toys like plastic animals, Magna Tiles, picture books and puzzles, mostly tucked away in bins, keeping it simple and easy to maintain.
