Name: Jeanne
Location: Denver, Colorado
Type of Home: loft
Color Inspiration: Color is so energizing, I surround myself with pieces that I love that connect with my personality. It's a very eclectic mix of Chinese antiques, Vintage Furniture Redesigns and Mid Century Modern Elements. I love this place, it just makes me so happy!
Thumbs Up Voting is only activated for 48 Hours — so don't delay!
Colors Used: I used Vintage Furniture Redesigns by Vintage Renewal (by company), beautiful Chinese Antiques by Eron Johnson Antiques and some Mid Century pieces that I purchased from Craigslist. The colors used include Reds, Mustard Yellows, Greens, Aquas, Blues, Browns, Creams, Pinks (should I keep going). This apartment is like the end of the rainbow!
Color Tip: My best tip for using color successfully is to find that one color anchor to drag your eye clear across your room. My anchor is red in my open loft space. I have a fabulous red antique Mongolian cabinet on one side of the room, a bright red painted farm table with red Vintage Renewal chairs in the center of the room and a red Chinese antique wall shelf on the other side of the room. All of these pieces bring your eye across the room giving it feeling a unity in the space.

Beautiful pieces Jeanne. You have a way of making all of your personal touches harmonize with one another.
Love this loft!
Beautiful space!
Awesome use of light, color, and texture!
u rock jeanne...hope u win!!!!!
There certainly is a lot of color here, but there really doesn’t seem to be a method to the madness. I’m tempted to call it “squatters chic” -- I’m not really feeling the harmony.
Every single person that come into my house loves that chair I bought from you! You place is like my DREAM home! I love it!
Good Luck Jeanne!!!
Love the punch of red!
I love the colors!
GO JEANNE!!!
This is indeed a happy space. Love your colors, your eye, and your *stuff.* Thumbs up.
Ive been looking for a set of dining chairs like this for a while. Does anyone know of a resource for these chairs. Great space!
Jeanne, you've taken a white canvas and transformed it into a profusion of color with your furniture redesigns, antiques and vintage finds. You've brought life and coziness to a huge loft space. Way to light the world one room at a time.
Jeanne's sense of color and style never ceases to amaze the viewer.
Your apartment is great Jeanne even better in person it is original and it represents a part of you... Good LUCK! ;)
Love the floral chair "nook" and the corner with the frames. Great job Jeanne!
Love the colors! Such a happy apartment. Love the lime green cabinet by the adorable floral chair.
I love the fabrics in this space! So fabulous. The colors are great. I love the space itself; I'm a sucker for an open loft.
Good luck...love those colors!
Great space and ...ooh the color... wow.... I like the frisky and risky combos of pattern and color. I could never be brave enough to try this. keep it up Jeanne. Inspire some rooms...
Nice layout... Very creative, overall fun... WINNER!
Good Luck Jeanne
Count me in as someone who likes the individual pieces but the whole not so much. Its not balanced or harmonious to me. There is not method to this profusion of color and patterns.
You are a STAR!! This is FAB!!!!! Winner for sure!
Awesome use of color and patterns, everywhere! Great use of the natural light to highlight the window curtains also! Such a comfortable, livable space. Keep creating Jeanne!

Barbara & Rudi
Splendid!
Great Room!
Did you use a paint brush, roller or spray paint to cover the dining table? Did you seal the paint with anything after?
Jeanne, the room is absolutely stunning!!! You are an amazing designer.
Beautiful colors - great job.
Awesome work Jeanne! so talented! Lauren, PA
Love the big owl!!
Awesome Jeanne! Hope you win :)
Great job, your place reminds me of when a person is young, imaginative, and hasn't bent to what the masses believe their color wheels tell them. "Individualism for the open minded " Your work will hopefully open some color blinds, and let a young, bright light shine through.
Best of Luck, Arthur
I agree with a few others here- individual pieces were obviously selected with care, and individulal pieces do technically qualify your entry into the room for color contest...but I'm left with the feeling that the whole isn't really sure what it wants to be when it grows up.
Jeanne is fantastic. Check out this write-up.

Jeanne you are creative and your apartment has a unique style that everyone should be jealous of..Good luck xoxo
you have an eye for colors come to nyc and help me decorate my bachelor pad!
Jeez, Theo, what's up your behind that you need to make three nasty responses?
So you don't like it, why so sore that others do?
Never mind, forget I asked. Don't want to give you an excuse to make yet another sour post.
I think maybe what's behind it is that some of us who have been a part of the community for years, or at least months, resent people signing up just to vote for their friends or family, especially if they don't check out the other entries and are not interested in becoming part of the community. I understand that the rules of the contest encourage this, because AT wants to have more eyes on the site and the advertising, but for people who may have a genuinely fantastic entry but not a lot of friends (or family who know how to use the internets), this isn't really fair or, for that matter, fun - like it's supposed to be.
kelleyk, I know you and many other commenters have been around for a while, so yes, it is just a matter of taste, but I think some people might be pretty irritated when they feel entries are ending up being more about the person and their network than the submitted images and the room.
Also, the rules do state that you are not allowed to post links in the comments, but so far none of the editors have done anything about that.
I hope that didn't sound nasty ... I was trying to be neutral :) I think the room is adorable. A little all over the place maybe, but it clearly makes her happy, so good work!
Not what I would constitute COLOUR...more drab furnishings on the whole than colourful.
LOVE your happy place Jeanne! Michelle--xoxo
Lovely!
Thank you for all of your comments, both positive and negative. The space is meant to reflect the uplifting personality of it's furniture redesigning resident artist. It's a space to inspire creativity and to awake my senses, so that I can bring that energy into my designs. I'm not claiming to be an interior designer. I am sharing a room that inspires me with it's bold color combination's. That is the nature of this contest.
I apologize for posting links. I was responding to a gentleman's request on where to find the dining chairs. If anybody can instruct me how to delete that entry, I am happy too.
I would like to ask that comments remain more professional and less cutting on both ends. I love this space and wanted to share it with one of my favorite places of inspiration, Apartment Therapy.
Warmest wishes, Jeanne
Fun fusion of color, styles and genres… This is a wonderful example of a smart use of space; she has set up great spots for entertaining, working or just hanging out. Well done…
Love everything you do Jeanne. all our best to you
The Florida Kolenuts
Great building and room, the furniture and colors are a psycho mess. Thumbs down!
Love it Jeanne!!! Really bright and cheery colors- just like you :)
You were at the beginning of the "new generation" and this really reflects it! Good luck Jeannie!
Love, Cousin Vince & Christine
Your room inspires me!!
Nice work...good luck!
Great space! Very creative and bright....
YAY Jeanne!!! right on =)
I voted for ya!....
i'm most struck by your layout in such an open space! good work on that! question, though... why is the sofa so close to the television? i was wondering if it was to give you more room to walk behind it but it looks like there's plenty of space.
JEANNE YOU GO GIRL:-) LOVE IT!
You have a great space! i need you to come over to my house and help me decorate!
Jeanne YOUR THE BEST OF THE BEST men in black have your back. YOU have what it takes.
Hi Creative type! Thanks for commenting. I'm laughing because my tv is so cheap and small that I couldn't even hear it if it was much further back. :-)
I like your idea though! This contest has inspired me to do some redecorating after seeing so many fantastic spaces.
Thanks again for your very sweet comment.
This is a colorful space filled with things beloved by its inhabitant, regardless of whether or not they create a smooth overall "design". I have pored over these photos more than those belonging to many other entries, simply because there are so many interesting things to see! It is homey and airy all at once, filled to the brim while remaining relatively uncluttered. No, it is not thoughtfully designed and carefully edited. But it is lovely.
Please, for the love of pete, move that couch just a bit farther from the television!
Thanks tmoore! :-)
I think I better move that couch and ditch the cheap tv!
You're comments are very much appreciated.
This has been fun and you have all been very sweet! Thank you so much for letting me get this far in the contest. I hope to be back with some different ideas down the road. I love Apartment Therapy!
Much love,
Jeanne
Great job, Jeannie!
I love the red table so much that I painted mine red too. Do you have trouble with warm or cold dishes sticking to it and leaving ring marks?
