What I love most about our little bungalow is the cozy feeing you get when you walk in the door. When we bought it, it was a blank canvas. Nearly 15 years later it is filled with a lifetime of happy memories, including bringing home our baby boy and kitten Macaroni. It has also allowed me to grow as an artist, trying out new ideas and experimenting. Being budget minded, nearly everything in our home has been collected over the years at 2nd hand stores, Craigslist, gifted from family, or picked up curbside. It has been a labor of love!
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
Fill your home with the things that inspire you and make you happy! Surround yourself with treasures found traveling, childhood artwork, or sentimental objects having belonged to loved ones.
Layer with lots of color. While white walls may be soothing for some, I prefer the excitement of looking through a kaleidoscope or into Jeannie's bottle in my bungalow.
Find ways in which you can get rooms or furniture to multitask. I use my living room as a work space as well as a place to hang out. My desk has also done double duty accommodating 8 for dinner. Nearly all of the furniture has felt sliders so everything is easy to move around.
