Name: Jean
Location: Laval, Quebec
This is a 610 square foot condo, located in Laval, a suburb near Montreal, Canada. I've redesigned the way we use this space because I needed to have a desk to work, a place to eat and also a place to watch TV. I also had to address the lack of cooking space.
First of all, I decided to design an Island unit that would let me hide my stools in it. I didn't really need a separate table to eatat, that unit is just perfect. To give a very wide and impressive look to the open space, I connected many IKEA wall units together. I decided to have a floor with a matt finish, to give a rustic feel to my wooden floor. In the bathroom I changed everything: bath, toilet, sink. I added 24"X24" tiles everywhere in the bathroom. Below the sink, I added a very slick stainless steel LED light just to give a bright kick to the sink. In the rest of the condo, I used track lights and focused them on different walls. And, finally at the island unit, I used Victorian bulbs because I love the look it gives and it makes a cool contrast with the rest of the modern furniture. I built my desk with 2X4's and Gyproc and added glass to protect it. I also painted a blackboard on the wall next to my computer to be able to take notes for jobs - I'm a advertising photographer.
That's about it!
Sorry, my english isn't perfect... I normally speak french! :)
Thanks, Jean!

Awesome. Love the sleek simplicity. Love the lower white cabinets in the living room. WOW that is a BIG refrigerator for such a condo that size!
VERY nice. Seems so much bigger than the sq. footage. Love the ambiance.
I LOVE your bathroom!
And, speaking as a Montrealer in search of a headboard... do you mind telling us where you got the bed? :)
Super space, I love the kitchen, --the whole place has a nice feel to it . You've done well.
Who is the artist for the picture above the bed? I looove it!
Slick. Of course want more. How about bigger pics.
So lovely. Hard to believe that it's only 610 square foot.
I finally registered for this site just to say that I think your place looks awesome!
I am also a member of the 600 sq foot club, so it is nice to see something as amazing as this.

Superbe ton apart, Jean. Je suis nee a Montreal (mais j'habite Vancouver) et ca me fait toujours plaisir de voir des condos de par chez nous...
I love the choices that you made - the strong statements with large pieces, and a restrained palette of colours. Such a beautiful space.
The images over your bed, and in the living room - were they created by you? If so, do you have a web site where we can admire your works?
Thank you for a beautiful tour.
Fabulous! Sleek but very inviting. I am from Toronto and a huge fan of Quebec - I went to Bishop's way back when.
Your English is excellent and a heck of a lot better than my French.
Love it! Modern with a touch of rustic.
I also love the lower white cabinets in the living room, what a great idea!!!!!
And that painting is beautiful!
The artfully placed box of q-tips in the bathroom is a nice touch ;) I love the dramatic, masculine feel of this space.

Very nice and clean.
And the empty space between the living and work area is for tango, right? Lovely!
