My cousin Jellel lives in Tunisa and has been trying to tempt me to come for a visit. Seeing the pictures of his house, I'm seriously considering it.
A photographer, Jellel spent his childhood in Tunisia then went to France for many years before returning to Tunisia. His house reflects a unique mixture of French and Arab influences — there are bright spots of color and a riot of pattern. Little vignettes are dotted everywhere amidst the eclectic mix of objects and furnishings and there is a surprising order amidst the chaos. Exotic, yes, but still warm and homey and inviting.
Thanks Jellel!
