Name: Jennifer
Location: Portage Bay - Seattle, Washington
Two years ago, we figured out that we are not house-fixer-upper people and moved from a rambling 1902 house to a smaller one-story-with-a-finished-basement house in the Portage Bay neighborhood. (Close to the water, so my partner, Therese, could stand-up paddle in the mornings before work.)
Since then, we've happily added our daughter Amelia to the mix, and it gave us the occasion to bring in some modern touches that we love to a traditional Seattle Craftsman style. We get the best of all worlds--fun, modern light fixtures plus beautiful beveled-glass windows, built-in bookcases, and even a Dutch half-door. Without prompting friends --and even people coming by to do work on the house--tell us how much they love the feel of the place.
Thanks, Jennifer!

You can tell it feels nice from just the photos. Love the quote on the wall from back to the future...
It just feels like a home should feel, warm and cosy.
Charming and comfortable looking. The only tiny criticism is the arrangement in front of the fireplace, but not knowing the dimensions of the room it probably makes sense.
I normally DESPISE tours of houses on AT. (I'm here to look at apartments, not houses.), but this place was so wonderful, I LOVED IT! Good job, ladies!
Awesome ceiling light in the bedroom!
I love the Density wall art - long live Back to the Future! The ceiling light is also fantastic. Would love to know where both came from.
Good. I can imagine *doing* things in these rooms.
Incredibly tasteful home, restrained but not at all cold. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing it with AT.
Absolutely beautiful! So cozy and homey.
I'm with you. LOVE LOVE LOVE that quote on the wall. I just had a flashback of George McFly. :)
Beautiful. Cozy, yet elegant. What a wonderful house. I grew up in Seattle and I miss the lovely craftsman homes from that area.
I'm totally making a poster like that for my husband. Love it!
Where did you get the BFF print? Absolutely love it!
