Cards in the mail... I miss that so much.
Happy Valentines Day Maxwell and AT! After all these years, AT is still one of my dearest loves. :)
Oh how I loathe this day. Why should we be "forced" to do and buy things on a particular day rather than when we damn well feel like it? It just doesn't feel genuine to me.
I never understood the loathing for valentines day. For me, it's just a lighthearted holiday to celebrate with bad candy, hugs and kisses for your SO and your good friends.
@JENPDX - I don't know very many women that take it "lighthearted"-ly. Myself, i don't even consider it a holiday. Some wine, a nice home-cooked meal, and some slow $exin' is a somewhat regular thing at home, so why should I force it on this Tuesday?
I LOVE Jenny Belin's work, and have been collecting it for YEARS. Start buying it up NOW, while you still can! She is an amazing, inspiring artist...xoxo Happy VD!
jenpdx, my problem with it is all the pressure that people seem to put on themselves and others to "do Valentine's Day right" and "make it special." A lot of people seem to view it almost as a test of their significant others. Then you have the jacked-up prices on flowers, the SUPER-TACKY crap in the stores, overcrowded restaurants . . . my honey and I just prefer to skip all the hype.
But isn't it still a matter of personal opinion? I have major issues with people stressing out over giving Christmas gifts. But that's just me.
On gift-giving, there are so many ways to gift creatively. It's so easy to overlook and overpass all the tacky store gifts. I don't see why it would be any different for Valentine's Day, if a person were to be one of those that celebrates it in a big way. Just saying.
