Name: Jen
Location: NOPA — San Francisco, California
When I first walked into Jen's two-bedroom flat, I couldn't help but feel instant calm. With minimal, modern whites blending into shades of earthy browns, her laid-back San Francisco apartment reflects her personality to a cap T. After years designing for Apple, Jen decided to launch her own outdoor boot-camp business. She says the streets, parks, and beaches of San Francisco are her "office," which might explain the nature-y vibe of her parkside home.
Her design MO seems to be pairing cool modern pieces with warm vintage accessories--think woodsy farm tables coupled with industrial Bertoia chairs, old-fashioned chalkboards with Nelson lamps, and a kitchen that most urbanites would drool over (guilty). Jen renovated the space with a Viking stove, stainless steel countertops, and locally made Heath Ceramic tile. The roomy Restoration Hardware leather sofa, which Jen affectionately calls "snuggle island," sits beside the white brick fireplace, the coziest spot in her home on foggy SF nights.
In her all-white bedroom, Jen adds some personal touches, like screen-printed pillows designed by her sister, a professional photographer. Off the two bedrooms is a peaceful deck where Jen reads or has tea after a long day literally running around the city.
Thanks Jen!

I really like this style-it's what I'm going for at my home. I want to see a full house tour of this place!
Ditto, we're being teased: MORE!
Totally gorgeous and I want to see the whole thing. One note: the stove is a Wolf, not a Viking.
I really like the natural colors against the white walls and dark wood floors. I also like the tall wainscoting and how they used the deep chair rail to display pictures. Very nice.
Is there a body under those couch cushions? Love the kitchen!
love the kitchen, but everytime I see open shelving (especially in San Fran), all I can think is...you know about earthquakes, right?
Curious about the height of the open shelving in the kitchen -
Are the dishes stacked there used everyday?
Is a stepladder involved?
Kitchen.....Droooooool........
Oh wow, I went to a baby shower at Jen's and LOVED her home! So fun to see it here. It is even more stunning in person. I remain envious of her coffee table, and kitchen is just gorgeous - minimal, but still cozy!
Full tour! Full tour!
I love the two decorative pillows.
I like that there's no cupboards in the kitchen. Very interesting.
It looks fabulous.
Love the kitchen. Can we see more of this house ?
Hi! I'd be happy to do a full house tour but that would require actually buying furniture and art and shelves.
Thanks for the kind words about my flat.
Love,
Jenn
Dear Rosekraft,
I'm 6' tall so I can reach stuff!
Jenn
Dear Ivan,
My sister's pillow company is called Archival Decor. They are incredibly plush, made with hemp and manufactured locally.
Love,
Jenn
House tour, please!
Love the couch! Where did you get it?
Add me to the vote for House Tour. . . . please.
what kind of light is that in the first pic?
The textures are fantastic.
The canoe on the coffee table...where is it from? Or is it homemade?
I love that it is minimalist without being cold. You blend traditional peices with modern classic well.
Best. Couch. Ever.
What?! You showed half of two rooms! You wrote about her all-white bedroom but didn't show any of it. Am I missing something? What I do see, I absolutely love, and also wish for a house tour. I also had a similar sofa several years ago, wish I had never disposed of it :( Gorgeous flat! I think...
Love a leather couch and have one myself.
Show the whole apartment, please!!
I also love the kitchen.
MORE ROOM SHOTS EVEN IN HOUSE CALLS, PLEASE.
I'm soothed..
I am in love with that leather couch! Where did you get it?!
Yes - would love to see more of this place too!
Absolutely amazing! I love all of it - such serene colours and beautiful textures :)
