Name: Jeremy & Anna
Location: Pacific Heights — San Francisco, California
I am an Industrial Design Student at California College of the Arts and my boyfriend Jeremy is a Dental student. We live together with my dog Lobo in this one bedroom apartment. We are on the 5th floor of a large Edwardian apartment building, so we get lots of light, which is a stark contrast to our last place where we couldn't even keep house plants alive.
We have lived here for about a year and the place is slowly coming along. I love modern furniture but with school and part time work I find it difficult to afford the pieces that I covet as I walk by all the high end design stores in my neighborhood. With the help of craigslist, CB2 and IKEA as well as my limited DIY ability, I finally feel that our apartment is ready for Apartment Therapy!
Thanks Jeremy & Anna!

Lusting after that gorgeous credenza. I couldn't fit one that size into my apt.
Why not consider a wall hanging for behind the couch?
Unblock the door you crazy kids:>
Where is that rug from? I love it.
I'd also like to know where the rug is from. Gorgeous!
I don't like the couch in front of the door either. I understand you have to do what you can with small spaces but it just bothers me for some reason. I'd rather see the couch in front of the window with the computer in the bedroom or in the corner by the TV.
the couch against the door is a bit of an eyesore, i have to agree. but i'm thinking maybe it's blocking the door for a reason?
The door is blocked because there is another door to the closet from the hallway, and we didn't need two doors.
The rug in the living room is from Emmitt Island in Berkeley.
I think something hanging in front of the door, like a nice fabric, or a huge poster would make a huge difference, because otherwise the space is lovely.
I really like seeing dog beds in full display because it shows their four-legged owners are truly part of the family.
The nightstand is cute too! Where is it from?
maybe the couch is there to shout out the spammers
Thank you for the suggestion about hanging something big over the door, I didn't even think of that but I thinks its a great Idea. I have been living with the couch in front of the door for a while now and I don't even notice it any more, but I admit, when I first put it there it bothered me a little. Still I think it was a design choice I had to make in order to fit both large desks in the living room which was a necessity, since we are both students. I am pretty anti desks or any media in the bedroom, because that is my sanctuary and I don't want to have to do or think about anything stressful in there.
I found the nightstand on the sidewalk on my way to work. It was very beat up. I looked into getting it professionally restored, but it was too expensive so i painted it my favorite color with a glossy top coat.
Now I just have to find something original to hang over the couch.
suggestions welcome, (no keep calm and carry on poster or railroad signs)
Thanks
And one more thing,
the dog bed is from FYDO (for your dog only)
they make great beds that last and are so comfy. For the first time my dog actually prefers his bed to mine.
I really like your front door :)
just hang that cool painting on the door... it'll look quirky instead of awkward
Ok so I know most of you probably know the answer to this question, but where can I get that gorgeous rocking chair?!
@deirdre Rocker is the Eames Molded Plastic Rocking Chair. You can get it at DWR but I am guessing since Anna is a student it may be vintage or a reproduction unless she splurged on it :)
Anna I love your DIY on the nightstand, so cute. And I actually didnt even notice the door until I saw the comments!
Thanks modkitten!
Couch in front of the door!!! WHY? Must miss.
Great space. the entrance way could use some pizazz.
