- What I Love About My Small Home:
- My place has incredible character and is a historic home that's been converted into an apartment. It was built in 1895, and I actually open my door with the original skeleton key. The floors are all hardwood and original (redone several times over the years), and their are domes, and moldings, and a claw foot bathtub. It has all sorts of character and is completely charming.
- Biggest Challenge of Living in a Small Space
- Storage is always an issue and was certainly the biggest challenge in every room. I solved this in several ways, as my place has all sorts of hidden storage ideas that double as decor. I have a vintage trunk in my bedroom I use for linens and towels, and baskets everywhere that hide all sorts of things. I've raised my bed onto raisers and used under the bed drawers for clothing storage and misc. items. Instead of a TV on a stand, I Craig's Listed a beautiful Media armoire that houses my flatscreen and tech. In the bathroom, I had virtually no storage at all, as I have a pedestal sink matching the tub, so some simple white wood storage shelves from Target were pretty effective to help in that area.
