Name: Jesse & Erick
Neighborhood: Fairmount/Art Museum
City: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Our Home: One bedroom loft apartment
Having lived all over Chicago, New York and Cleveland, I can say that Fairmount (also known as Art Museum neighborhood) in Philadelphia is by far my favorite neighborhood I've ever lived in! Just blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Boathouse Row, future sight of The Barnes Foundation, and littered with bars full of craft beers and great jukeboxes, Fairmount is the most friendly and diverse neighborhood in the city.
Jesse & Erick's Guide to Fairmount
The understated cousin of Northern Liberties, the neighborhood surrounds the Eastern State Penitentiary Museum which formerly housed famous inmates such as Al Capone.

I used to work in that neighborhood, and I agree, it is a fantastic city spot!
Oliver's is closing soon and he's just going to have an ebay business :(
I've lived in Fairmount for just over a year now and love it. It's like having the suburbs in the city!
Oh no! It sucks that Oliver's is closing. It's not really in my neck of the woods but I liked popping in there when I was in the 'hood. *sigh*
I do love Oliver's! and the best bicycle shop is in this neighborhood as well: http://www.fairmountbicycles.com/
Oooh I really like this idea. Especially because you're focusing on neighborhoods instead of entire cities. Very cool.
Nice to see the old neighborhood I used to work in. I love the Art Museum area!!
Art Museum/Fairmount is lovely with good shops and restaurants but really I would call it one of the LEAST diverse neighborhoods in Philly.
I agree with quinnley, I love Fairmount, but I find south philly much more diverse...
