Amazon challenger Jet.com which launched this past July hoping to lure away customers from Amazon's Prime program with its own membership-based site just announced major changes including dropping membership and raising prices.

Since the company offered a free 3-month trial when the site launched, customers hadn't lost out on membership fees yet, but the move does mean that Jet is raising prices to make up for the loss of this expected income. So what can Jet offer customers? It plans to push its Smart Cart feature which offers more savings to customers each time they add something to their cart.
