Images comprised of many more images, Anima explores the boundaries and links between native flora and fauna of the Pacific Northwest. Come out and see a new body of work by Jill Bliss this Friday if you happen to be in Portland, OR.
Jill believes that "people, plants and animals are not so different from one another, that everything and everyone are interconnected and similar. It's just a matter of each functioning with their set of materials, and at varying speeds and scales." The intricacy of her work is incredible. Here is a detail shot from the bear pictured above:
The original drawings are Japanese archival ink pens on paper, 18" x 24". They range from $2k - $5k. 16" x 20" art prints are also available for $20.
The opening is Friday, Dec 11th at 6pm in the gallery at Land, which we featured a few months ago on AT. Amongst the many independently produced goodies at Land, you can shop the store for Jill's cards, posters, note pads, journals, stationary sets, etc. You can also pick up a copy of Jill Bliss and Salee Oh's collaborative 2010 calendar Flock and Flutter. Visit jillbliss.com to see more of her work.
Land is located at 3925 North Mississippi Ave. Portland, Oregon 97227
