It's mobile!! The ultimate home away from home! I renovated this 1960 Tradewind Airstream recently. It is a great compact home with a fun, creative design sense. Taking into account all the aspects of every day needs. Cooking, sleeping, bathing with cool original storage, double duty details, privacy and necessities that evoke warmth and fun-loving adventure.
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
I always start with a mood board or a idea board. Grouping the actual pieces together to get a quick sense of how it will all come together, I use the Mood Board App on my Ipad, not only is it easy to find and add things, but when you are ready to pull the trigger all you do is click to the link to purchase. Like all small spaces, but especially in the trailer, I found unique pieces that did double duty, like the stool with seat that comes off and becomes a wine bucket. Plus a color scheme that goes together, but is easily mixed with slight variations. Such as textures, finishes and shapes. Fabrics always pull things together without too much expense, chalkboard paint can create a personal touch on any surface. And most of all, I love to find every day things and put them to other uses. Like the Target sale belts that were used as curtain tie backs, drawer pulls, cabinet hardware and toilet paper holder. It's all in the details.
